JDE Test Case Recorder

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 30 September 2026

JDE Test Case Recorder helps a user turn interactions performed in a JDE web session into manual test-case steps, expected results, and optional screenshot evidence for local export or user-initiated publication to Azure DevOps.

Information handled by the extension

While recording is active, the extension may process the active JDE page URL, clicked control names, selected values, entered field values when that option is enabled, detected JDE form names, and screenshots when screenshot capture is enabled. Password-like or otherwise sensitive fields are excluded using field type, autocomplete metadata, and label patterns.

The extension also stores test-case metadata entered by the user, such as title, area path, iteration path, assigned user, state, Azure DevOps organization and project settings, and an optional Azure DevOps Personal Access Token (PAT).

How information is used

Recorded information is used only to build the test case requested by the user, generate a local CSV and evidence files, or create the test case in the Azure DevOps organization configured by the user. The extension does not use advertising, analytics, tracking, profiling, or AI services.

Storage and transmission

Data is stored locally in the browser extension profile. CSV and screenshot exports are downloaded to the user's device. No information is sent to the extension developer or to a developer-operated server.

Information is transmitted only when the user selects Create Test Case in Azure DevOps. In that case, the requested test-case content, screenshots, and PAT are sent directly over HTTPS to the Azure DevOps organization entered by the user. Microsoft Azure DevOps processes that information under the user's or organization's agreement with Microsoft.

The PAT remains in local browser extension storage until the user selects Forget saved PAT or removes the extension. Browser extension storage is not a dedicated password vault.

User controls and retention

The user can disable field-value capture and screenshot capture, edit or delete individual recorded steps, start a new test to clear the current recording, forget the stored PAT, and remove the extension to delete its locally stored data.

Permissions

The extension uses browser permissions only to open its side panel, store the current test locally, inject the recorder into the user-selected JDE tab, continue recording when JDE replaces internal frames, capture the visible tab when requested, and download local exports. Optional host access is requested at runtime for the active JDE site and for user-initiated Azure DevOps publication.

Sharing and sale

The developer does not sell, rent, share, or allow humans to read user data. Data is transferred only to the user's configured Azure DevOps service when necessary for the extension's user-facing publishing feature.

Limited Use

The use of information received through browser APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used solely to provide the extension's disclosed test-recording and export features.

Changes

If the extension's data practices change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before the changed behavior is released.
